No Trial For Georgia Gun Dealer

The Bloomberg Administration, in its ongoing campaign to limit the number of illegal guns entering the city, claimed another legal victory. As arguments were to begin in a Brooklyn federal court today, a Georgia gun dealer opted out of a trial. WNYC's Arun Venugopal has more.

REPORTER: Adventure Outdoors, located just outside Atlanta, could become the 21st gun dealer to submit to outside supervision due to New York City's efforts. According to attorney Ken Taber, who represents the city, the evidence against the dealer was overwhelming. He said 67 crime guns sold by Adventure Outdoors were recovered in New York, and that in terms of gun traces, the company was in the top one percent of dealers nationwide. However, an attorney for Adventure Outdoors, John Renzulli, defended his client as a model gun dealer. He also said a four-week trial would have been extremely expensive for the company.
