Gunfire Erupts in Brooklyn

Five men were shot outside a Brooklyn banquet hall early Sunday morning in a burst of violence that left one dead and another wounded by a police bullets.
Police say the havoc began around 1 a.m on Atlantic Avenue near East New York, when one man shot three others, killing one. Then the gunman was shot by a second shooter who ran off with an accomplice. Two officers and a sergeant heard the gunfire and chased the second gunman down Atlantic Avenue before the sergeant shot him. The 21-year-old, wounded in the leg, is in custody and in stable condition at a local hospital.
His alleged accomplice who was not injured, is also in custody. Of the other wounded men, one is in critical condition with three gunshot wounds to the torso. Police said the wounds to the other two do not appear life-threatening.
