New York, NY —
Demolition work at the former Deutsche Bank building is under way again, days after being suspended because of a construction accident. Workers started removing debris and repairing scaffolding at the building on Saturday.
Streets directly around the building have been closed to pedestrians and traffic, and residents whose apartments face the building are being urged to close their windows until work is completed. Work at the site was stopped Thursday after a piece of construction equipment fell onto a shed, leaving two firefighters and a worker hurt.
