Power Restored at New Jersey Water Plant

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

Full electrical service has been restored to a New Jersey water plant that serves more than 800,000 people. Lightning damage shut down the facility in Haworth early Saturday morning and left people with little or no running water.

United Water New Jersey is instructing residents in large portions of Bergen and Hudson counties to continue boiling water before drinking it and has ordered people not to use any water for nonessential reasons. Residents of Franklin Lakes, Jersey City and Hoboken do not need to boil their water.
