Cablevision Reaches Agreement

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

Cablevision has reached an agreement to allow itself to be sold to its founding family, the Dolans.

Board members have approved Charles and James Dolan's latest offer of $36.26 per share, saying the deal was in the best interests of public shareholders. This is the fourth offer the Dolans have made to take the company private. They say Cablevision would be more competitive if it were privately held.

Cablevision also owns Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, the Rangers, and the Knicks.
