Gridlock Sam’s Advice on Congestion Pricing

Long-time traffic engineer Sam Schwartz, better known to New Yorkers as Gridlock Sam, says attempts to charge drivers more to be in Midtown have floundered over the years because of opposition from Brooklyn and Queens politicians. He says if Mayor Bloomberg’s congestion pricing plan is to succeed, the mayor has to give something back to those boroughs. He tells WNYC’s “All Things Considered” host Amy Eddings his ideas.
