Rat Poison Found in Recalled Pet Food

Scientists at New York's agriculture department have found what was in pet food that caused the deaths of at least 16 dogs and cats. It was rat poison.
HOOKER: Aminopterin which is a toxic chemical has been identified as a rodenticide, although it is not registered in the United States in cat food samples from menu foods.
REPORER: Agriculture Commissioner Patrick Hooker says he doesn't know how the rat poison got into the pet food. At least one pet owner, from Long Island, has sued Menu Foods for the death of their dog. Menu Foods has recalled 60 million pouches and cans of pet food, sold under 95 different brand names.
