Atlantic Yards Vote Scheduled for Today

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

The $4 billion Atlantic Yards project goes before another state agency this afternoon. The Public Authorities Control Board could approve, deny or delay its decision when it meets in Albany.

The board is controlled by State Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Governor Pataki. And it has the final say on the redevelopment project.

It needs a unanimous vote to be approved. The Atlantic Yards project has the support of the governor, Mayor Bloomberg and the vast majority of the City Council, State Assembly and Senate.
