Pirro Says She's Done Nothing Wrong

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010
Former Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro has disclosed she is under federal investigation for allegedly attempting to wiretap her husband because of a suspected affair. WNYC's Elaine Rivera reports on the latest blow to Pirro's rocky campaign to be New York's next attorney general. REPORTER: A furious Pirro demanded that a U.S. Attorney's investigation into her should itself be investigated. The Republican candidate says that there has been a partisan witch-hunt to derail her campaign. She was caught on tape asking former NYPD commissioner Bernard Kerik to secretly record the activities of her husband, convicted tax evader Al Pirro. Political consultant George Arzt says her campaign can't afford any more setbacks. ARZT: It becomes rather tough for her to get any traction here. REPORTER: The U.S. Attorney would only confirm the probe but would not elaborate. Pirro says she has done absolutely nothing wrong.
