Short Blackout in Bronx Ends

The power is back on in the Eastchester section of the Bronx, after a three and a half hour outage this morning. The blackout affected about 1,600 customers, or 6,000 people, and also caused delays on the number 5 subway, which had to slow down because signals were out of service.

Con Edison says a defective overhead aerial cable is to blame, and is looking into the exact cause.
