Mets Don't Expect Yankee-style Opposition to Stadium

Plans for a new Mets ballpark were unveiled yesterday, showing a scaled-down stadium resembling the old Ebbets field.
REPORTER: Mets spokesman Dave Howard says the team doesn't expectthe same kind of opposition to their new stadium that the Yankees had.
HOWARD: We will construct this new ballpark on our own property, within the fenceline of Shea stadium, so we're not going to be taking additional property, we're not going to be taking parkland, ultimately our new ballpark is going to be smaller scale so it will actually have a beneficial effect locally with regard to parking and traffic impacts.
REPORTER: Mets owner Fred Wilpon got a little emotional during yesterday's unveiling. He said when looking at the Ebbets Field style design he almost felt like an eight or nine year old walking through the Ebbets Field rotunda holding his dad's hand.
