WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

Governor Pataki today is expected to announce that John Cahill, his Chief of Staff, will formally take charge of rebuilding Lower Manhattan.

Cahill will coordinate activities between the port authority, mta and lower manhattan development corporation.

The announcement comes tens days after the resignation of former LMDC president Kevin Rampe.

The Governor is also expected to announce that architects say they can now meet the NYPD's heightened security requirements that were responsible for slowing down the development process in the first place.
