Some of the world's best double dutchers skipped over to Thurgood Marshall Academy gymnasium today to show off some of the moves they'll be using at the Apollo Theater for the 18th Annual Double Dutch Holiday Classic, scheduled for Saturday. They were also promoting healthy eating and exercise.

Tomorrow's double dutch event at the Apollo includes teams from around the world.

The jumpers displayed their unique blend of athletic agility and keen dance moves while skipping two ropes. One of the crowd favorites -- a team from Kyoto, Japan -- used moves from Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' in their routine.

Since spring, double dutch has been an official varsity sport in New York City high schools.
