The Hood Internet's penchant for the mash-up is only rivaled by the band's love for the mixtape. The Second City DJ duo has infused hip-hop beats into indie rock classics in four volumes of over 130 released tracks. Behind these woven compilations--which include Ludacris vs. She & Him, Lil' Wayne vs. Modest Mouse and Aesop Rock vs. The Knife--are Aaron Brink (also known as ABX) and Steve Reidell (also known as STV SLV). A recent show in an industrial corridor of Chicago sparked this track, "Chi City", which pits The Hood Internet vs. Kid Static in a hometown anthem.
