Bartlett Giamatti has an international reputation as a scholar in the field or Renaissance literature. He has won many awards and honors, including citations from the Italian Republic, the French Ministry of Culture, and the Federal Republic of Germany. Mr. Giamatti has written many books, essays, articles, and reviews on Renaissance literature, including The Earthly Paradise and the Renaissance Epic and Exile and Change in Renaissance Literature, and on baseball, which have appeared in publications like Harper's, The New York Times, and The Boston Globe."
