Psychologist Abigail Marsh discusses The Fear Factor: How One Emotion Connects Altruists, Psychopaths, and Everyone In-Between. She argues that all human brains are wired to be good. Marsh looks at what drives the extremes of generosity and cruelty in humans. She studied psychopathic children and extreme altruists in an fMRI, and found that the answer lies in how our brain responds to others' fear.
