The A-Cappella Comeback

The New Yorker Radio Hour | Feb 3, 2017

Jia Tolentino has been watching the comeback of a cappella in popular culture with interest. She used to sing a cappella herself (and is only somewhat shy to admit it). She met up with Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who co-wrote the a-cappella musical “In Transit.” Anderson-Lopez has some theories about why a cappella is popular right now, and she succeeds in coaxing a reluctant Tolentino to sing a few bars.
