Adrienne Warren, Brandon Victor Dixon and George C. Wallace on 'Shuffle Along'

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 6, 2016

Adrienne Warren (Gertrude Saunders/Florence Mills) and Brandon Victor Dixon (Eubie Blake), along with director and author George C. Wolfe talk about the hit Broadway musical “Shuffle Along,” which was nominated for 10 Tony Awards. "Shuffle Along" is a revival of the 1921 jazz age musical featuring the show's original music and lyrics by Noble Sissle & Eubie Blake, and a new book by George C. Wolfe, based on the original book by F.E. Miller & Aubrey Lyles. This production tells the behind-the-scenes story of how the ground-breaking musical infused jazz into the sound of Broadway.

"Shuffle Along" is now playing at the Music Box Theater (239 West 45th Street).
