NYC advocates fight 'ghost cars' with illegal license plates

Since the spring, Mayor Adams has pledged to crack down on ghost cars. Those are vehicles with fake paper license plates, defaced plates, or no plates at all. The NYPD has issued more than 42-thousand summonses for the violation this year. But a casual walk around the city reveals the problem is seemingly everywhere. WNYC’s Stephen Nessen reports on a few advocates who are taking matters into their own hands.
