Alexis Cuadrado is a bass player and composer whose music often includes elements of jazz, flamenco, and contemporary classical music. Cuadrado and his all-star 10-piece band premiere new music for old silent films Wed. night, Jan. 22, including a work of Alice Guy Blache, the first female director, whose films deal with gender equality; The Land Beyond The Sunset, about income inequality, and, Charlie Chaplin’s The Immigrant. All current issues still more than a century after these films were made. Alexis Cuadrado and his band play Wed. night, Jan. 22, in the first of three free evenings of Silent Film with Live Music at Brookfield Place downtown.
