
Cheerleading Discrimination, Hip Hop Fashion and Pioneers, Book Club, 'Palmer'
The documentary, "A Woman’s Work: Football’s Cheerleader Problem," follows two former NFL cheerleaders as they fight against discriminatory—and illegal—employment practices in America’s most lucrative pastime: football. Director Yu Gu joins us to discuss.

Directors Lisa Cortes and Farah X along with designer April Walker discuss their new documentary, “The Remix: Hip Hop X Fashion,” which follows the designers who turned hip-hop style into a global cultural phenomenon. It's available now on Netflix.
Writer and editor Clover Hope joins us to discuss her new book, The Motherlode: 100+ Women Who Made Hip-Hop, which features illustrations by Rachelle Baker. The book looks at the careers of over 100 female rappers, including Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj, and Megan Thee Stallion, and explores the deep influences of women on the genre.
For February, Black History month, team All Of It has selected a novel for our Get Lit with All Of It book club that has been described as a cross between the films, “Sorry to Bother You” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Author Mateo Askaripour joins us to preview his debut novel, Black Buck, which tells the story of a man who becomes the first Black employee at a New York start-up and hatches a plan to help young people of color infiltrate America’s sales force.

Actor and filmmaker Fisher Stevens joins us to discuss directing the new film, “Palmer,” starring Justin Timberlake, on Apple TV+. The film follows Timberlake as Palmer, an ex-convict recently released from a 12-year sentence who has to take care of a young neighbor boy, with whom he has trouble connecting, after his mother suddenly leaves. Stevens has worked as a documentary filmmaker, was recently an executive producer of the hit Netflix show, “Tiger King,” and has a recurring role on the HBO series, “Succession.”
