Future of Broadway, National Sawdust, 'The Untold Stories of Broadway, Volume 4,' Grammy Nominee Black Pumas
On March 12, 2020, Broadway went dark -- closing all of its theaters in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. A year later, Tony-winning playwright Jeremy O. Harris joins us to talk about what the future of Broadway might be in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement, the inequities made clear during the pandemic and the massive job losses in the Broadway community.
Paola Prestini, composer, co-founder, and artistic director of National Sawdust joins us to discuss the fifth anniversary of the non-profit performing arts organization and music venue. National Sawdust is currently producing new performance content as part of their ongoing Digital Discovery Festival season.
Author and producer Jennifer Ashley Tepper joins us to discuss The Untold Stories of Broadway, Volume 4, the latest in her series. The book contains interviews and oral histories with Broadway actors and theater professionals. We'll also take calls about the industry and the one-year anniversary of the 2020-2021 Broadway shutdown.

On March 14, the band — who also performed as part of President Biden’s inauguration special — will vie for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best American Roots Performance.
