All Of It with Alison Stewart | Oct 27, 2021

"The Sopranos" creator David Chase discusses his new film "The Many Saints of Newark," the prequel to his acclaimed "Sopranos" series, and what’s next.

WNYC planning editor Kate Hinds joins us for her ongoing series, “Kate Has a Plan,” to discuss the stories the newsroom is following this week.

The storied area of land known as Governor’s Island has been home to the British government during colonial times, the US Military, and now is public land, that features glamping among other activities and events. Clare Newman, president and CEO of the Trust for Governor’s Island, will discuss the history and current iteration of the island, including how it will now be open year-round.

Despite receiving relatively little commercial success in their original 10-year run, The Velvet Underground have become one of the most influential and iconic bands in rock history, instantly recognizable from their Andy Warhol-produced banana album cover. A new documentary from director Todd Haynes takes a fresh look at the band and its legacy. Haynes joins to talk about "The Velvet Underground."

Cook, writer, and artist Julia Sherman returns with a follow-up to her popular Salad for President cookbook, this time tackling home gatherings, from dinner parties to breakfast for two, all with an artist's touch. Arty Parties: An Entertaining Cookbook combines recipes and hosting tips, along with insight into the gatherings of internationally acclaimed artists, making for an informative and thoroughly entertaining read. We also take calls from listeners to hear how they've gotten back into the swing of hosting gatherings, and maybe even learn what their go-to party dish is.

Be alert for scams. WNYC never asks for nor accepts money for coverage or interviews. Anyone making such a request does not represent WNYC.
