
New Albums from Animal Collective and Black Country, New Road, 'Owned' Documentary, Spencer Jakab on 'The Revolution That Wasn't'
Animal Collective's new album Time Skiffs arrives following the longest gap in the band's release history; six years after their album Painting With. It's also the first album in a decade to feature their complete line-up. Bandmembers Josh Dibb, aka Deakin, and Brian Weitz, aka Geologist, join us for a Listening Party.
The UK-based experimental rock band Black Country, New Road, turned heads with their 2021 debut album, For the First Time, which the Guardian considered to be one of the best albums of the year. Black Country, New Road consists of six members, and last Friday they released their highly anticipated sophomore album, Ants From Up There. Bassist Tyler Hyde and drummer Charlie Wayne are with us for a Listening Party for the new album.
The documentary, "Owned: A Tale of Two Americas," tells the story of the racist housing policies enacted by the federal government in post-World War II America, and how those decisions set the country on a path to the inequitable and segregated neighborhoods that exist in many of our cities today. Emmy-award winning director Giorgio Angelini is with us to speak about the film and the state of housing inequity in the United States. "Owned: A Tale of Two Americas," debuts on PBS today, February 7, 2022. It will also be available to stream on the PBS Video App.
