For years, the Brooklyn music venue called Jalopy has been a haven for folk and roots music. Its weekly Wednesday night series called Roots N' Ruckus has launched a number of careers, among them the Bronx native Alynda Lee Segarra, who leads the versatile band called Hurray For The Riff Raff. On Wed. night, Dec. 9, Jalopy begins a four-night festival it’s calling Roots N Ruckus – The Stay The Folk Home Edition. And Alynda Lee Segarra will be one of the headliners on Saturday, Dec. 12. Jalopy’s four night Roots N Ruckus Festival streams online via Facebook Live and Youtube. Wed. night’s guests include Neel Murgai of Brooklyn Raga Massive; Segarra will headline the Saturday night finale.
