America, Are We Ready? A National Call-In About Racism, Violence and Our Future Together

A national call in on race, policing and violence.

Monday, June 1, 2020, 8-10 pm ET.

Over the weekend, uprisings against police brutality sprang up across the nation, and in many cases escalated to violence. The death-in-custody of George Floyd, the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, and a legacy of police violence against black communities has sparked these outpourings of rage and fear, and made demands for police reform impossible to ignore. This evening, WNYC's Kai Wright and Brian Lehrer host a national call-in on these protests, and the questions about race, violence and policing at their core.

Guests:

Tanzina Vega, host of the national daily program The Takeaway, from WNYC Studios
Angela Davis,
host of Minnesota Public Radio News
Dr. Gail C Christopher, Executive Director at National Collaborative for Health Equity
Errin Haines, Editor at Large for The 19th a nonprofit, nonpartisan newsroom reporting at the intersection of gender, politics and policy
