Andy Akiho via Free Assembly Festival (Live Stream)
Tues., Oct. 27. 8PM EDT. FREE with RSVP.
Presented by Metropolis Ensemble, House of Yes and Le Poisson Rouge

This chiming, metallic work is by Andy Akiho, and that’s Sandbox Percussion playing it. They are some of the artists taking part in an online digital music festival on Tuesday night, Oct. 27, put together by the Metropolis Ensemble. They’ve found a silver lining to the digital cloud that hovers over the music world: with everything online, collaborators who couldn’t easily work together before can now do so virtually. So that’s the theme of this event, which they’re calling Free Assembly Festival. Andy Akiho, percussionist Shayna Dunkelman, composer Du Yun, cellist Mariel Roberts, trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith, Sandbox Percussion, and so many others all feature as part of Free Assembly, a digital music festival streaming from the House of Yes and Le Poisson Rouge, on Tues., Oct. 27, starting at 8PM.
