The group known as Artemis, named after the Greek goddess of the hunt, was founded back in 2016 to celebrate International Women’s Day with some concerts in Europe. All five women in the band have notable solo careers and lead their own bands, but Artemis turned out to be something special, and they all make time to keep the group going. They’ve just released a new album called Arboresque, and they’re celebrating with a residency at the Village Vanguard. The all-star quintet Artemis, plays Tuesday, March 4 through Sunday, March 9 at the Village Vanguard.
