Ashley Jackson – "Deep River II" (Soundcheck Podcast)

Water is the theme of harpist Ashley Jackson’s new album. In the American spiritual tradition, water is a powerful metaphor for freedom and for moving from this life to the next. Jackson’s record, Take Me To The Water, weaves that imagery through works by Debussy, the jazz harpist Alice Coltrane, blues, and some classic spirituals. Ashley Jackson's live set in our studio is the latest edition of the Soundcheck Podcast.
