The Barr Brothers: Redefining Americana

The Barr Brothers have been redefining “Americana” music since 2011, after touring for years as the avant-garde rock band The Slip.
The two brothers leading the ban — Brad Barr and Andrew Barr— have spent decades producing music together, and have joined with harpist Sarah Page to create a spiritual layered sound that combines folks, rock, blues, post rock and more. They've toured with My Morning Jacket, The War on Drugs, and others.
They have a new album, "Queens of the Breakers," out today.
The Barrs have been exploring strange music and weird instruments for a long time, and they joined Todd Zwillich in the studio to talk about their influences and odd sound, and ended up creating a magical moment with a few toy instruments and their instincts.
