Singer and guitarist Billy Strings has been called “the future of bluegrass,” but he’s also a guy with one eye on the past. Strings has been doing a series of shows streaming live from The Capitol Theatre up in Port Chester, and the dates specifically coincided with the Grateful Dead’s performances at that same theater exactly 50 years earlier. Wed., Feb. 24 is the last of them, and it’ll recall both the sounds and the spirit of those long ago events. Billy Strings and his 6-part Déjà vu Experiment, as he calls it, are playing a run of live streams from The Capitol Theatre on Feb. 19-21, 23, and 24. A portion of proceeds will benefit The Rex Foundation and Backline.
