Reincarnation isn’t a theme you commonly run across in indie rock circles, but Kazu Makino of the band Blonde Redhead wonders if that might be why kids think they know it all – “Was I a silent child, seen it all before,” she sings on the band’s new single “Before.” The song features layers of her dreamy vocals atop intertwining guitars and subtly skittering percussion, and will be a welcome, if overdue, addition to the band’s catalog after an absence of almost nine years. Their upcoming album, Sit Down For Dinner, out on September 29, will be their first full-length record since 2014. Blonde Redhead plays at Brooklyn Steel on November 10, and their new single is part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
