Café Tacvba at Irving Plaza
Nov. 1-2, 7PM. $59+

The Mexican band Café Tacvba has spent the past thirty years upending expectations of what a Latin alternative rock band should sound like. They’ve done ambient electronic music, folkloric tracks, chamber music (of a sort) with the Kronos Quartet and hip hop (again, sort of) with the Puerto Rican group Calle 13. But occasionally, they do like to remind you that they are in fact an alternative rock band. The Mexican band Café Tacvba plays Monday and Tuesdays nights, Nov. 1-2, at Irving Plaza.
