John Pfaff, law professor at Fordham Law School, joins us to discuss his book, Locked In: The True Causes of Mass Incarceration and How to Achieve Real Reform. Through a historical and legal lens, he asks how America has become a country with one-quarter of the world’s prisoners despite making up only five percent of the global population. Through an understanding of the contemporary prison industrial complex, Pfaff considers how America can shift towards a more equitable and humane criminal justice system.
