The French band Caravan Palace plays a style of music known as electro-swing, a mostly European confection made up of equal parts 1930s-style gypsy jazz and 21st century electronic pop. Inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grappelli on one hand and Daft Punk on the other, Caravan Palace have found that the two apparently different genres actually play quite nicely together. The band Caravan Palace plays Saturday night, Jan. 29, at Brooklyn Steel.
