Cartoonist Liana Finck Rides the Train to Nowhere

The New Yorker Radio Hour | Jan 27, 2017

The New Yorker cartoonist Liana Finck rides the Long Island Railroad, a commuter line that runs east of New York City, to get her creative juices flowing. She uses the time to sketch ideas, which is her favorite part of the cartoon process. As she settles into the train’s balance of crowds and solitude, she can set her social self aside and let her drawing self take over.
