CelloGayageum at Flushing Town Hall

Saturday, Feb. 10 is the Lunar New Year, which is celebrated in many Asian countries, among them, Korea. The duo CelloGayageum marks occasion with their unusual pairing of instruments. Sol Daniel Kim plays the cello and Dayoung Yoon plays the gayageum, a large zither that is used in Korean court and folk music. The duo is based in Berlin, and their music blends the forms and harmonies of the West with the rhythms and textures of Korea. The duo CelloGayageum celebrates Lunar New Year on Feb. 10 with a show at Flushing Town Hall.
