Charlie Hebdo's Legacy

The Brian Lehrer Show | May 4, 2015

Jean-Baptiste Thoret, a Charlie Hebdo cartoonist and the recipient of the PEN/Toni and James C. Goodale Freedom of Expression Courage Award, was late to work the day twelve members of the Charlie Hebdo staff were murdered by violent extremists. He'll talk about the months since the attacks, the controversy at PEN, and his own work. Suzanne Nossel, PEN's executive director, defends the group's decision to award Charlie Hebdo the PEN/Toni and James C. Goodale Freedom of Expression Courage Award.
