On Friday, the Canadian pianist and producer Chilly Gonzales released a Christmas album. Sure, it's pandering to the holiday marketing season, but John Schaefer will let it slide, largely because it's a poignant yet comforting version of a song written by the gifted but troubled poet and songwriter David Berman, who died last year. It’s not really a Christmas song, but “Snow Is Falling In Manhattan” offers a sonic postcard of a city hunkering down under the snow.
