A Chinese Reporter at the Republican National Convention

The New Yorker Radio Hour | Jul 22, 2016

Evan Osnos, a New Yorker staff writer and the author of “Age of Ambition: Chasing Fortune, Truth, and Faith in the New China,” has spent a good deal of time reporting on the rapid changes taking place in modern-day China. Now back in the United States covering politics, he spent this past week at the Republican National Convention. There, he caught up with the journalist Yuanan Zhang of Caixin, which she calls “a combination of Economist and Bloomberg,” and spoke about why a Trump Presidency might make democracy a harder sell in China.
