Christian Taylor: A Football Star’s Death in the Lone Star State
Tristan Hallman, reporter for The Dallas Morning News covering crime, the police
department and the Dallas Fire-Rescue in North Texas, and Zellie Imani, activist and founder of the alternative news blog Black Culture who helps organize NJShutitdown, a group protesting police brutality on college campuses in New Jersey, discuss the shooting and consequent death of a black Angelo State University football player Christian Taylor, at the hands of Arlington, Texas police officer-in-training Brad Miller.
Miller shot and killed unarmed Taylor after the 19-year-old broke into a car dealership and according to Miller, Taylor rapidly approached him while cursing.Â

Arlington PD fired the officer who shot #ChristianTaylor. @zellieimani: A firing doesn’t necessarily mean justice or progress has been made.
