City Begins Releasing Inmates as COVID-19 Cases Increase in Jails

Mayor de Blasio said Sunday that 23 people were being released from city jails. Another 200 cases were up for immediate review, with more to be considered. The releases come as nearly 3 dozen inmates and city jail employees tested positive for COVID-19.
