Claire Berman is a freelance writer and contributor to New York magazine. This week's issue of the magazine on June 16th, they are concluding a two part article by Berman on one-day excursions for children.

They've already published Mrs. Berman's articles on Children's Theatre in this article she provides not just a listing of what's in town and what's good but also a thorough discussion of the problems of this kind of entertainment and why these problems are too often passed on to the audience.

New York Magazine also ran an article by Berman on children's parties. Apparently, New York City life is so special that party giving reaches new heights of complexity and sophistication. She has also just written A Parent's Guide to a Child's New York. The book is discussed at length.
