Congressman Bill Pascrell on Why He Wants President Trump's Tax Returns

Representative Bill Pascrell of New Jersey has been leading the Congressional effort to get President Trump's returns for years. Congress may be just days away from formally demanding President Trump's personal tax returns.

Speaking on WNYC's Morning Edition, Pascrell said the inquiry is critical in order to know whether Trump has any connections that could create a national security threat.

"We're not trying to peek into people's privacy," he said. "What we're trying to do is find out if the president has any conflicts of interest or potential conflicts of interest. We can't find that out unless we have a review."
