Coro Acardenchado at Mexico Now Festival (Live Stream)
Mon., Nov. 2. 8PM ET. Free.

El Coro Acardenchado is a Mexican choir that performs the traditional cardenche music of northern Mexico – in a decidedly untraditional way. Cardenche songs are generally melancholy, and performed by a trio of singers. The choir uses up to 30 singers, and while they can do the mournful sound, they also use handclaps, footstomps, and body percussion to make fun, tub-thumping original songs too. El Coro Acardenchado performs as part of the Mexico Now Festival, a free streaming event on Monday, Nov. 2, that will remain online through Saturday.
