Singer and guitarist Dar Williams has been making records and touring since 1990. The New Yorker once described her as “one of America’s very best singer/songwriters.” She’s also an environmentalist and author. Her first book was about the touring musician’s eternal battle to find decent food while on the road, and her latest is called What I Found in a Thousand Towns: A Traveling Musicians Guide to Rebuilding America's Communities – One Coffee Shop, Dog Run, & Open-Mike Night at a Time. It’s a theme that has recurred in her songs too. This one is about a mountain in upstate New York, called “Storm King." Dar Williams plays July 7-8 at City Winery.
