Day Jobs: Lingerie Designer

Like most aspiring comedians trying to make it in New York City, Courtney Maginnis has a day job — but her daily 9-to-5 routine is just as offbeat as her stand-up routine: she’s a designer at a top women’s underwear company. She says the joke-writing process is a lot like designing undies. “As you go through the season designing something, it evolves and changes the same as when you start telling a joke,” she says. “In six months, it’s not going to be the same.”
