Dick Gregory

The NYPR Archive Collections | Jan 1, 2000

Patricia Marx interviews comedian Dick Gregory about the ongoing racial issues in America. Gregory discusses the lack of effectiveness of non-violence, as he feels that people only respond to violence, though he holds out hope that non-violent aggression will eventually work. He also points out the problems with the way crime rates are assessed in America, as well as his frustrations with the lack of knowledge among whites about the true black leaders of America.
