The Growing Demand For Seafood

The Leonard Lopate Show | Apr 24, 2017

Bestselling author and lifelong fisherman Paul Greenberg joins us to discuss his new documentary for FRONTLINE, “The Fish On My Plate.” The film looks at what a growing demand for fish means for the oceans and the seafood industry. Part of this demand comes from the omega-3 fatty acids industry, which produces pills made from fish. Greenberg committed to eating fish daily for a year to see if it would improve his health. He also explores the complicated route seafood takes in order to reach a dinner plate, and what sustainable options are available for fish farming.

"The Fish On My Plate" airs April 25 on PBS.
