Elisapie at Joe's Pub

Elisapie at Joe's Pub
Oct. 5. 9:30PM. $42.

The singer Elisapie is an Indigenous Canadian musician who has become known, especially in Canada, for her own songs and for her inventive covers of familiar rock and pop tunes. Her latest album, Inuktituk, is a whole series of these reimaginings sung in the Inuktituk language. Elisapie was shortlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize for it, and a few months ago, she was one of the Indigenous leaders pictured on a series of Canadian postage stamps. Elisapie plays on Oct. 5 at Joe’s Pub.

This is her song “Qaisimalaurittuq,” although Pink Floyd fans will know it as “Wish You Were Here.”
